| Rocky & Kentucky Mountain horses |
| Being part of the "baby boomer" generation, Mike and I converted to gaited horses 4 years ago. It was a hard decision to let our precious quarter horses go, but now we wonder why we didn't switch years ago. Mountain horses have the personality of the very best horse plus the glide of their 4 beat gait. It just doesn't get any better! We decided early on that we were going to look for foundation breeding, conformation, and most of all....a willing spirit in our horses. We love to camp and trail ride, and want the future owners of our foals to also enjoy the same. Our first foal hit the ground last May.....a grullo colt! Our stud (Babe's King Elvis) is dark chocolate with a flaxen mane and tail & has 4 white feet plus a snip with broken star. We were riding him with only 30 days training and he continues to amaze us! He just produced his first 2 babies and they are just beautiful. One is a darling chocolate filly and the other is a very stately black colt. We just had Elvis color tested by UC Davis and he is RED GENE NEGATIVE. That means he cannot produce a red baby. His chocolate filly is also red gene negative, so we are just thrilled! The black colt may also be neg. We hope you will enjoy our website and give us a "holler" if you have any questions. We are a small family farm in Western Kentucky and we aim to please! Happy Trails! Pat & Mike |
